Excited, a little nervous, and hopeful that I won’t screw this up we embarked on our homeschool journey in July 2012. Primarily, we will be using Ambleside Online and following the philosphy of Charlotte Mason. For the first few years, we will also be incorporating Before Five in a Row and Five in a Row curriculum.
I am thankful for a family that encourages us on our journey, especially my sister who is also homeschooling. Additionally, I was blessed to meet a group of like minded homeschooling moms in late 2010 that have been a great resource on all things Charlotte Mason. They have mentored and guided and answered questions and I really don’t know where I would be without them.
Most importantly, I am thankful to God for His Grace and Christ for His Sacrifice. On days when homeschooling seems like a chore it is Christ that reaches out to me through the centuries to remind me that ‘Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for a friend’. I hope and pray that my children will acquire a deep love for Christ and character that reflects Him.
